ESN Göteborg is a non-profit student organization where all students are welcome. We aim at making the experiences of all students in Göteborg the best possible as well as foster internationalization at home by bringing Swedish and international students together.

Our events are u-n-m-i-s-s-a-b-l-e! The range of activities varies from incredible trips (such as Lapland, Russia and our famous, legendary student cruise; the Sea Battle),cultural activities, language cafe and social gatherings).

All students are also welcome to join the active committee to have good times and to take part in planning more awesome activities! 

 

Description of board position roles and responsibilities!
Don’t worry, we all work as a team to share the workload, so these aren’t strict at all!

President:

  • Hold overall responsibility for ESN Göteborg
  • Lead weekly meetings and distribute the agendas 
  • Oversee the entire board’s work and harmonise members
  • Be liaising with national authorities and international relations
  • Work with the treasurer to manage budget
  • Keep up to date knowledge of important ESN documents
  • Be active in organising and attending regular events

 

Desired requirements:

  • You’re able to dedicate a substantial amount of your time to this role
  • Have previous experience in ESN or a similar organisation with leadership
  • Can communicate, harmonise and lead a team efficiently
  • Mandate lasts one year until 31st May 2020

 

Vice-president / Local representative:

  • Be responsible for communication between ESN Göteborg and other ESN sections & ESN Sweden
  • Replaces the president when he/she is absent
  • Hold voting rights on behalf of ESN Göteborg when it comes to decisions within the national and international network, thus must ensure the opinions of the entire board are gathered
  • Keep the board up to date about ongoing business in the national and international level 
  • Be active in organising and attending regular events

 

Desired requirements:

  • Have previous experience in ESN or a similar organisation with leadership
  • Can communicate, harmonise and lead a team efficiently

Treasurer:

  • Create a budget plan for the financial year
  • Be responsible for daily accounting of incomes and expenses
  • Keep regular accounts of the budget
  • Assist the board in events organisation and attendance

 

Desired requirements:

  • Previous experience in accounting and finances
  • A good ability to plan budget into the term
  • You’re able to dedicate a substantial amount of your time to this role
  • Mandate lasts one year until 31st May 2020

 

Communication Manager:

  • Have the responsibility to share all relevant information to students, in regard to ESN Göteborg’s events, activities, and ESN’s ever expanding aims and ambitions
  • Keep our social media updated (Facebook & Instagram) and answer messages promptly 
  • Be responsible for creating posters for events and activities
  • Promote and keep track of all events
  • Be responsible for the Visual Identity of ESN, making sure no ESN branding rules are broken
  • Assist the Events Coordinator in organising, planning, and attending events 

 

Desired requirements:

  • Good Photoshop / poster creation skills
  • Able to follow ESN’s Visual Identity Manual correctly and keep up to date (We'll teach you what this is about, no worries)
  • You’re able to dedicate a substantial amount of your time to this role
  • Mandate lasts one year until 31st May 2020

 

Events Coordinator:

  • Be responsible for all events organised and hosted by ESN Göteborg 
  • Outsource tasks for particular events and have an overview of what still needs to be the done and keep track of people's progress on this 
  • Keep formulating new ideas for fun and engaging events 
  • Keep up to date with ESN’s projects, such as Social Inclusion days, thus organise appropriate events

 

Desired requirements:

  • Good planning skills (long term event planning)
  • Good improvisational skills (during events) 
  • You’re able to dedicate a substantial amount of your time to this role in organising, attending, and maintaining contact with event partners
  • Good communication and leadership skills in order to efficiently run events
  • Mandate lasts one year until 31st May 2020

 

Partnership Manager:

  • Actively work to make ESN Göteborg a well-known organisation among interesting companies and venues in Gothenburg 
  • Go around and do your best to find local partnerships and deals for ESNcard holders
  • Make sure ESN Göteborg is constantly creating new networking opportunities
  • Keep partners informed and updated with ESN Göteborg
  • Keep account of ESNcard sales

 

Desired requirements:

  • Confident in talking to business owners and other organisations about partnerships and deals
  • You’re able to dedicate a substantial amount of your time to this role
  • Mandate lasts one year until 31st May 2020

 

Travel Coordinator:

  • Manage and coordinate all our trips with our travel partner Scanbalt (soon to be TimeTravels)
  • Manage and coordinate ESN Göteborg’s involvement with ESN Sea Battle twice a year
  • Come up with ideas for trips ESN Göteborg could organise by themselves and take initiative in this 
  • Keep in contact with Scanbalt, ESN Sea Battle, and any other trips we’re involved in.

 

Desired requirements:

  • A good ability to maintain communication with other organisations
  • Ability to plan and lead trips if necessary 
  • Mandate lasts one year until 31st May 2020

 

Web Project Administrator:

  • Be responsible for ESN Göteborg’s website
  • Keep the website up to date with events, trips and general information
  • Strive to keep developing and improving our website and its user-friendliness
  • Be responsible for the storage of ESN Göteborg’s internal documents, databases and ESNcard sales

 

Desired requirement:

  • Have previous experience in computer programming / computer science or related
  • Availability to dedicate free time as of when it’s needed in case for IT errors or similar
  • Mandate lasts one year until 31st May 2020
