And now it’s time for us to test you, if you can handle the trolls … Join us on a wonderful day trip to the enchanting city of Trollhättan! Nestled along the serene shores of the Göta River, this small yet lovely city is a hidden gem waiting to be explored. With a mix of culture, nature, and a touch of nightlife, this excursion promises something for everyone.
Travel Itinerary:
Morning Departure: • We'll start our journey from Centralstationen in Göteborg by hopping aboard the train bound for Trollhättan. You will need a ABC ticket for this trip. If you already have an A-zone ticket, you just buy a BC ticket. Please don’t buy it too much in advance so that we can use the full validity of 180 minutes for the ride.
City Tour: Trollhättan's quaint streets and learn about its history, including its industrial heritage and famous film history. We will give you an quick overview about all interesting information of the city, tell which places you might check out later on your own and what the structure of the event will be. Also we meet with some internationals from Trollhättan.
Hike and Picnic: Afterwards, we'll embark on a beautiful hike that will take us through lush forests and to stunning viewpoints (ca. 8-9km). Capture breathtaking views of the Göta River and the surrounding countryside. Be sure to bring your camera for some Instagram-worthy shots!
Please dress accordingly for this trip with hiking boots or solid outdoor shoes and comfortable clothes
Along the way, we'll find the perfect spot for a delightful picnic. Enjoy a scrumptious meal while soaking in the tranquility of the Swedish outdoors.
Free Time to Explore: Following our nature adventure, you'll have some free time to explore Trollhättan at your own pace. Visit the local shops, discover hidden cafes, or take a leisurely stroll along the riverbanks. Also, there are some museums which you could visit or maybe you do an entire sports day and combine our walk with a kayak tour on the river Göta through the city. We share a survival guide at the beginning of the trip, so everyone who is not into hiking you can also explore the entire time the city on your own but also afterwards there will be enough time to stroll along the streets.
Optional Dinner at a Local Restaurant: For those who wish to savour Trollhättan's culinary delights, we recommend dinner at one of the city's charming restaurants. We will tell you about our favourite places on the tour.
Nightlife at Club Brasseriet (Optional): As the evening sets in, the party enthusiasts among us can head to Club Brasseriet to dance the night away. With lively music and a friendly atmosphere, it's the perfect way to cap off your day in Trollhättan.
Return Journey: We'll conclude our adventure with a relaxing train ride back to Göteborg,
The organized part of this event will end in the afternoon, after that you can stay for longer in the city and choose a train on your own. Please make sure that you and your friends all arrive safely at home and won’t be kidnapped by one of the grumpy trolls (or miss the last train!).
